Answers to Prayer From George Müller Narratives edition by George Müller A E C Brooks Religion Spirituality eBooks
This book reflects the amazing work of God in the life of George Muller, known worldwide for his Christian ministry to orphans in England, and his life of prayer. The book is brief (about a 100 pages), gives a great introduction on how to approach prayer, and finishes with some helpful appendices on praying with power and effectiveness. In between are numerous journal entries from Muller's life, family and ministry, and how God answered Him through trials, toil, patience, suffering, yet always according to his perfect timing.I serve as a Youth Pastor, and have used this book numerous times for our prayer ministry. It will be culture-shifting for any ministry, because it will model for us how a life dependent on God effects people for God's Kingdom, and transforms us in the process. Also, the book is not just a number of journal entries, but is biblically sensitive, teaching people not only about praying, but praying the Scriptures.
Well-known Holiness Evangelist Leonard Ravenhill used to always preach that when anything is dropped in the Christian Life, it's always the prayer life first. Not surprisingly, it's also typically the last Christian discipline we develop, as well as the least thought about and publicized ministry in the church (unless you have a developing prayer warrior for a pastor). This book will go towards remedying that for many Christians. Highly recommended for both individual and group study.

Answers to Prayer From George Müller Narratives edition by George Müller A E C Brooks Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
This little book is a great must for Christians to read to understand what faith and believing in God totally to provide for all the orphanages needs.
Never once in his time in running the orphanages did George Muller ask for support for any living human being. He never had someone support the work as lot of other ministers did, like John Moody and others of that time. Just pure love and faith in God for all needs.
It is a wonderful read to follow, and as you read take time to refer to the Bible passages that are often quoted. Example by example is hard to understand, but when you realise that faith in an unseen God, and faith that you will receive from him your Daily requirements without any doubt, but turning all your prayer to trusting and waiting upon God is something that I daily strive to do from this mans example in his love to serve God and show others what faith does produce for the bible believing Christian.
I usually just read a book through once quite quickly and then put it back on the shelf with all the others. I read the George Mueller books slowly and stop frequently to savor and absorb the miracles that God has performed. I love the consistent trust that Mr. Mueller exhibits in the certainty that God is going to come through, even when He delays to the nth last minute. And sure enough as the days, weeks, months, years and decades pass his trust is never misplaced. Our Wonderful Provider never fails or embarrasses him. Whether it is hundreds or thousands of orphans that need to be fed that day, the provision is always complete. My own faith for financial help from my Heavenly Father has been transformed and my ability to receive and give has undergone a huge transformation. I have 3 Mueller books and they have been read two and three times slowly, methodically and lovingly. There seems to be an "impartation" one receives and that is exactly Mr. Mueller's hope and purpose in keeping these journals and publishing them.
George Muller was an 19th century Christian leader in England who took the Lord's command to look after orphans and widows in their distress very seriously. He build and maintained orphanages caring for thousands of kids over time never once asking any person for a penny to support the work. He also built works around Bible and Gospel tract distribution and foreign missions with the same dependence solely on the Lord. The book is essentially a collection of Muller's journal entries with some corresponding background to help explain the circumstances surrounding the entries. It is extremely well done and being free makes it even better. The book is clearly worth spending some $$ on.
Throughout the book I was repeatedly moved by the intensity of this man's faith. Although he repeatedly said he did not believe he had any special gift of faith, I don't know whether I could aspire to count on God the way this brother did, even in the direst of circumstances. Journal entries covering six decades of work in building and sustaining orphanages provide a well rounded view of how his faith remained consistent over time.
Here is one of his purpose statements for recording these things for us
Now, if I, a poor man, simply by prayer and faith, obtained without asking any individual, the means for establishing and carrying on an Orphan-House, there would be something which, with the Lord's blessing, might be instrumental in strengthening the faith of the children of God, besides being a testimony to the consciences of the unconverted, of the reality of the things of God.
More than once in the book he professes great thanks for the many trials that he endured because they increased his faith and dependence on God. This could be the most striking element of the book to me. Listen to how he explains this aspect of his Christian walk
The more I am in a position to be tried in faith with reference to my body, my family, my service for the Lord, my business, etc., the more shall I have opportunity of seeing God's help and deliverance; and every fresh instance, in which He helps and delivers me, will tend toward the increase of my faith.
Muller actually looked forward to the times where He saw no earthly solution so he could wait on God to deliver. It is a truly remarkable story in today's age of "I'll believe it when I see it".
The book is highly recommended.
